Why?
I’ve been a huge journaling fan since 6th grade (way back in 2007!). I’ve tried it all:
physical notebooks, Google Keep, other apps… and finally built DD-DigitalDiary..
Here’s why:
- Physical journals bored me. They demanded too much time and motivation.
- Google products made me anxious about privacy.
- Other apps? Privacy again. Plus, I once lost an encryption key and
poof—years of entries vanished.
So I built my own solution: DD-DigitalDiary.
What?
DD-DigitalDiary is a Photo Journaling app. No clouds, no fuss—just your memories,
stored locally by default.
Here are the features:
- Snap pics, not paragraphs. Too busy? Capture a moment. Add text later (or
never!).
- Use speech-to-text (Google/Apple) to "write" faster.
- Dual-camera mode for near 360° view of your day.
- Quick Actions lets you snap photos without even opening the app.
- Daily notifications for you to stay consistent.
It’s the easiest way to write your life’s Autobiography.
How?
Full guide here, but the TL;DR:
- Install and Open the App
- Enable Notifications
- Choose a Storage Folder
- Grant Camera Access
- Capture Moments Instantly
- Quick Access to the Camera
- Write Your Journal Entry
- Keep Your Diary Safe
Who?
For anyone who:
- Misses their “good old days” and wants to preserve today.
- Has a buzzing mind and needs to untangle thoughts.
- Cares about privacy but hates effort.
- Wants to see their growth, not just write about it.
Journaling isn’t therapy, but DD-DigitalDiary might just be the cheapest Photo Journaling
app you’ll ever try.
