How do I use DD-DigitalDiary? | A Step-by-Step Guide

DD-DigitalDiary is a Photo Journaling app. You get a notification, and you click a picture. And just like that — you're write your own Autobiography. Follow the steps below to get started:

Step 1: Install and Open the App

After installing Digital Diary, open the app. You’ll see a short welcome video explaining how it works. You can watch it or tap Get Started at the bottom to skip it.

Step 2: Enable Notifications

To help you document moments consistently, Digital Diary sends daily reminders between 8 AM and 10 PM. Tap Allow to enable notifications so you never miss a moment.

Step 3: Choose a Storage Folder

Select a folder on your phone where all diary entries and photos will be saved.

  • If you’re using Digital Diary for the first time, create a new folder called DDFiles.
  • If you’ve used the app before, select your existing folder.
  • Tap Continue to confirm your selection.

Step 4: Grant Camera Access

To capture photos for your diary, the app needs access to your camera. Tap Click Image when prompted and grant permission. Now you’re ready to document your life!

Step 5: Capture Moments Instantly

Whenever a notification arrives, tap it right away. The camera will open—snap a photo of what you're doing and add it to your diary. Your image will be saved automatically in your DDFiles folder.

Step 6: Quick Access to the Camera

If you need to take a photo quickly, long-press the Digital Diary app icon on your home screen until a menu appears. Then, tap Click Image to open the camera instantly—no need to wait for reminders.

Step 7: Write Your Journal Entry

After taking a photo, tap the area below the image to write your journal entry.

  • Type your thoughts manually.
  • Or, use your device’s voice-to-text feature (images/google Voice Typing or Apple Dictation). Tap the microphone icon on your keyboard, speak freely, and your words will appear.
  • When done, tap the checkmark icon at the top-left or anywhere outside the text box to save your entry.

Step 8: Keep Your Diary Safe

Your privacy comes first. All your entries and photos are stored in your DDFiles folder.

  • Back up your diary regularly (to a computer, images/google Drive, or external drive).
  • Note: Digital Diary does not store or back up your data—it stays with you.
